Sisterlocks Day 36

I am well aware of the fact that there are several stages to my sisterlocks journey. Right now, however, I’m in the nostalgia phase. I so miss my full twist-outs.

At night, I would coat my hair with butter and twist it into 9-15 chunky sections. The next day, my twist-outs were poppin’!

Today, I have hundreds of tiny starter sisterlocks in my hair and I constantly find myself trying to volumize them in hopes that I’ll capture a fraction of the volume of my coveted twist-outs.

I realize that with time, my locks will swell and become more dense.  But today..today I miss my big-hair-don’t-care twist-out.
