Sisterlocks Installation

 Installation Day 1

2015-04-27 08.34.01My sisterlocks installation began at 8:00 am on Monday, April 27. I was excited, nervous, and anxious. Since every head is different, I wondered what my new sisterlocks would look like. Would they be full? Too small? Am I really ready for this?

Shannon spent the first hour sectioning my hair in the sisterlock grid pattern. I’ll admit, after my first few locks were installed, I was a bit worried that my hair was too fine to pull off this look. I was scared.

But, there was no turning back. The more she locked, the more I wondered. I left the end of Day 1 a little scared.

At the end of Day 1, she had completed the front and very back sections.

Installation Day 2

It was pretty hard to sleep Monday night as I was a bit juiced from the excitement of the day. I rolled into the salon on Day 2 after driving by Starbucks. 🙂 I spent most of Day 2 sleeping and watching videos on my iPad.

After a total of 22 hours, my sisterlocks were done!2015-04-28 20.02.45 I couldn’t believe how much length I had. I knew my hair was at least 8 inches long, but I hadn’t straightened it in over 10 years, so it was weird feeling my hair graze the back of my neck and shoulders.
