Last night I slept well. I woke up refreshed and ready to start the day…that is, after I checked to see that I still had my sisterlocks. I had the most interesting dream (nightmare, rather) that I was in the shower, washing my hair when I noticed that several locs began falling out and dropped to the shower floor. I was horrified as I frantically began searching to find out why they were falling out. That’s all I remember.

I think it might have to do with the flare up I had recently with discoid lupus. This is the 2nd flare up I’ve had. The first was 5 years ago, prior to my sisterlocks installation.  I was diagnosed after finding a small bald spot at the top of my head. It eventually went away with time and the hair grew back. This time, the location is a little larger and concerns me a bit more. I’ll be making an appointment with dermatology to see what they can do to assist with the regrowth. Say a prayer for ya girl.
